What does this fault code mean?
At start-up, ICM confirms that the media player module (MPM) is present in the register of approved units kept in the CEM. A module that is not listed there is blocked. The code is set when the absence is recorded, for example after a replacement where the software was not loaded into the new unit.
Possible causes
- Replacing the media player module with a unit the CEM register does not approve
- No software downloaded when the media player module (MPM) was replaced
- The software download failed or did not complete
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and drive the car for a while to see whether it comes back
- 2If the media player module has been replaced, check that a software download was done. This is carried out by a workshop
- 3Check that the connectors to the media player module are fully seated and not corroded
- 4If the fault persists after the software download, the media player module may need replacing. A workshop should do this
Symptoms you may notice1
- The media player does not function
