What does this fault code mean?
ICM checks the CD module (MP2) against the register of approved units held in the CEM. If MP2 cannot be matched in the register, the CD module is blocked and its function is lost. The code is set when this is detected, usually after a replacement where no software was downloaded.
Possible causes
- A CD module that the CEM register does not approve
- Software not downloaded when the CD module was replaced
- The software download failed or was incomplete
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code, clear it and drive the car to see whether it returns
- 2If the CD module was recently replaced, check that software was downloaded with the change. The download is done by a workshop
- 3Check that the connectors to the CD module are fully engaged and not corroded
- 4If the fault remains after the software download, the CD module may need replacing. Have a workshop assess this
