What does this fault code mean?
Depending on the equipment fitted, the infotainment control module (ICM) exchanges a composite video signal with the television module and/or the rear seat entertainment. The code is set when ICM finds that the video signal from video input A is absent. Although the code is named message missing, it is the video signal itself that is missing.
Possible causes
- Sync signal from the CVBS video input reaches the control module incorrectly
- Loose connection on the composite video cable (CVBS) where it meets the control module
- Damaged wire running from the control module to the CVBS video input
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are given in the owner's manual or the fuse box cover
- 2Test the affected functions with the buttons, controls or a test drive to see whether a picture appears
- 3Check that the connectors at video input A and at the television module or rear entertainment are firmly seated and free from oxidation
- 4With a multimeter, confirm the video wire has no open circuit or short to earth. If you have a diagnostic tool, run the quick test and see whether the code returns
Symptoms you may notice3
