What does this fault code mean?
The video signal at video input A, running between the infotainment module (ICM) and the television module or rear entertainment, is faulty, and the fault comes and goes. The code is set when ICM finds the signal is not correct during the test. The fault shows up at irregular intervals, so the picture can be fine for a while and then disturbed again.
Possible causes
- Sync signal from the CVBS video input reaches the control module incorrectly
- Loose connection on the composite video cable (CVBS) where it meets the control module
- Damaged wire running from the control module to the CVBS video input
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are listed in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Test the functions with the buttons and controls, or drive the car, and note whether the picture gets worse at certain times
- 3Check that the connectors at video input A and at the TV module or rear entertainment are seated and oxide-free. Gently move them while watching the picture
- 4Inspect the video cable for chafing and breaks where it passes edges or moving parts. With a diagnostic tool, run the quick test and check whether the code returns
Symptoms you may notice3
