What does this fault code mean?
The video line between the infotainment module (ICM) and the front parking assistance camera, running through video input C, can be broken. The code is set when ICM detects an interruption in the video signal. Although the code is labelled bus off, it describes a severed video wire.
Possible causes
- Sync signal from the CVBS video input reaches the control module incorrectly
- Loose connection on the composite video cable (CVBS) where it meets the control module
- Damaged wire running from the control module to the CVBS video input
What you can do
- 1Inspect the cabling tucked behind the front panel on the right side of the tunnel for breaks, chafing and loose connectors
- 2Check the fuse that belongs to the wiring harness. Its location is in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 3Use a multimeter to confirm the wire to the camera is continuous from the control module. With a diagnostic tool, run the self-test and check if the code returns
- 4If the wiring harness and fuse are intact, the camera may need replacing. A workshop should carry that out
Symptoms you may notice4
- Other video problems
- Poor image quality or no picture on the front screen
- Parking assistance camera does not work, works partly or works incorrectly
