What does this fault code mean?
The infotainment control module (ICM) monitors the warm-up of the display. The code is set when the module finds the signal outside its normal range during the test, which starts once display warm-up has been switched on. The cause is an internal fault in the control module itself rather than in the display.
Possible causes
- Internal fault inside the ICM unit
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are given in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2After a cold night, switch the ignition on and note how soon the display lights up
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault code after switching the ignition on, clear it and see whether it returns
- 4If the code comes back after clearing, the fault is most likely inside the infotainment control module and it will need replacing. Have a workshop do that
Symptoms you may notice2
- The display lights up slowly
- On S80, V70 and XC70 built before the end of August 2008: the audio unit, its display or the radio does not work
