What does this fault code mean?
ICM tests whether the YES button has jammed. The code is set when the button has been held active longer than allowed, so it refers to the YES button even though the code is labelled button 3.
Possible causes
- The YES button has jammed in the pressed position
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are given in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Press the YES button several times and check that it returns fully
- 3Look for anything resting on or trapped under the button, and remove it if there is
- 4With a diagnostic tool, read the YES button value in live data and check it switches as the button is pressed. A workshop can replace the keypad if it is stuck
Symptoms you may notice4
- Buttons on the keypad do not work
- Steering wheel audio controls do not work
- The audio unit does not work
- On S80, V70 and XC70 built before the end of August 2008: the display on the audio unit or the radio does not work
