What does this fault code mean?
The infotainment control module (ICM) receives signals from the steering wheel buttons over the LIN bus and monitors their status. The code is set when ICM receives a message that is not valid. It is therefore the received signal that is wrong, and the search should go to the module that sends it.
Possible causes
- The fault lies in the module that transmits the signal from the steering wheel buttons
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their position is given in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Press each steering wheel audio and radio button and see whether any of them stop working
- 3Check that the connectors in the LIN cable to the steering wheel buttons are seated firmly and free from oxidation
- 4If ICM-B108788 is also stored, work through it first, as it points at the LIN bus. A workshop should then check the transmitting module and load software if it is replaced
