What does this fault code mean?
The infotainment control module (ICM) monitors the status of the steering wheel buttons over LIN communication. The code is set when ICM receives no signal from the steering wheel buttons, even though the module is switched on. Fault-finding should start at the module that is meant to transmit the signal.
Possible causes
- The fault lies in the module that should transmit the signal from the steering wheel buttons
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Try the steering wheel buttons and note whether any of them responds
- 3With a diagnostic tool, read the steering wheel button status in live data. If no values appear at all, the signal is most likely missing
- 4If ICM-B108786 or ICM-B108788 is stored, work through it first. If the fault persists after that, a workshop should check the transmitting module
