What does this fault code mean?
The infrared receiver in the keypad gets its supply from the infotainment control module (ICM), which checks that supply while the module is powered. The code is set when the supply is shorted to supply voltage or the wire is broken. The keypad and the remote control then stop responding.
Possible causes
- Short to supply voltage in the supply to the infrared receiver
- Open circuit in the supply to the infrared receiver
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Press the centre-console buttons and the remote control to see which functions are affected
- 3Use a multimeter to check the supply wire is continuous and not shorted to supply voltage. Check the connectors are seated firmly and free from oxidation
- 4If the wire is intact, the receiver in the keypad may be faulty. A workshop should assess this
Symptoms you may notice2
- The centre-console keypad does not work
- The remote control does not work
