What does this fault code mean?
The video coder converts the video from accessories such as navigation with voice control, so that sound can play through speakers connected to the audio module (AUD) or the integrated audio module (IAM), depending on the car. The code is set when ICM detects a fault on the mute switch, the switch that silences the audio.
Possible causes
- Damaged mute switch
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their positions are given in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Press the mute button and check that the sound is silenced and returns when it is pressed again
- 3With a diagnostic tool, read the mute switch status in live data and check that it changes when the button is pressed and released
- 4Check that the mute switch connectors are seated firmly and free from oxidation. If the fault remains, the switch may need replacing, which a workshop should do
