This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C30 Electric (2011–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
ICM verifies that the MOST network reports MOST-LOCK, a state meaning the network is sealed so communication can take place. The code is set when ICM finds the network outside that state, and infotainment functions may then stop working.
Possible causes
- Contamination or damage at the MOST cable connection
- Open circuit in the MOST cable
- Defective MOST transceiver in one of the modules on the network
- A module on the network has no power supply
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact and that the infotainment modules receive power
- 2Look at the MOST connectors for dirt or damage and check they are firmly seated
- 3Check that the modules have good earth connections, as a missing earth can disturb the whole network
- 4With a diagnostic tool, read the fault code after switching the ignition on and check whether it returns. If it stays, a workshop should find the break with a ring break diagnostic
Symptoms you may notice4
- The audio unit does not work
- The display does not light
