What does this fault code mean?
The serial number of each infotainment module is kept in the CEM and compared at start-up. If the digital radio receiver (RDAR/DABM) is missing from the approved register, the ITP function blocks it and digital radio stops. The code is labelled digital sound control module A, but it concerns the receiver.
Possible causes
- Digital radio receiver that is not valid according to the CEM list
- Software not loaded when the receiver was changed
- The software download failed or was incomplete
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are given in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2If the digital radio receiver was recently changed, check that software was loaded with the change. The download is done by a workshop
- 3With a diagnostic tool, read the fault code after switching the ignition on, clear it and see whether it returns
- 4If the fault remains after the software download, the receiver may need replacing. A workshop should assess this
