What does this fault code mean?
ICM receives the information it needs from the rear seat entertainment module (RSE) over MOST and monitors that connection. The code is set when communication with the RSE stops. The causes are a break, a short to earth or supply in the communication wire, or poor contact at the terminals.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the communication cable
- Communication cable shorted to earth
- Communication cable shorted to supply voltage
- Contact resistance, oxidation or open circuit in the terminals
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the other modules. If several modules show lost-communication codes, work through them first
- 2Check the connectors in the communication cable to the rear seat entertainment for oxidation, loose connections and chafing
- 3Clear the fault code and test-drive the car to see whether it returns
- 4If the fault remains, a workshop may need to check the rear seat entertainment and its cabling
