The infotainment control module (ICM) checks that the serial number of the rear seat entertainment module (RSE) is on the list of approved serial numbers stored in the central electronic module (CEM). If the number does not match, the function is blocked. The fault is linked to the infotainment theft protection (ITP) function.
Possible causes
- Invalid serial number stored in the module
- Software not downloaded when the module was replaced
- Software download failed or was incomplete
What you can do
- 1Find out whether the rear seat entertainment module has recently been replaced
- 2Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment download the correct software so the theft protection approves the new module

- 4If the fault remains after the download, the workshop should check the module's serial number and connectors
