What does this fault code mean?
The infotainment control module (ICM) has detected a fault in its communication with the phone module (PHM). Phone functions and services such as Volvo On Call therefore do not work. The code is generic and does not say what type of fault it is.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the phone module (PHM)
- Phone module (PHM) missing
- Blown fuse
- Open circuit in the MOST cable between the control modules
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact and replace any that has blown
- 2Check that the phone module is in place and that its connectors are seated and free from corrosion
- 3Look for chafed, kinked or loose sections of the MOST cable between the control modules
- 4Clear the code, switch the ignition on for a while and check that it is not stored again
- 5If the fault remains: have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the control module that sends the signal to the phone module, and replace the phone module if needed
