What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named front controls / display interface module, it applies to the front display (HLDF). The infotainment control module (ICM) does not approve the display because it is not on the list of approved control modules in the CEM. The display then stops working. The fault may be caused by a replacement without the correct software.
Possible causes
- Replacement with a front display (HLDF) that is not approved in the list in the CEM
- Software was not downloaded when the control module was replaced
- The software download failed or was incomplete
What you can do
- 1Has the front display recently been replaced? Check that it is approved for this car and that the correct software has been downloaded
- 2Have a workshop download new software to the front display
- 3If the fault remains after the software download: have a workshop replace the front display
- 4Switch the ignition on for a while after the repair and check that the code is not stored again
