What does this fault code mean?
The infotainment control module (ICM) has found that its software is faulty, because a download was not completed or the software does not match the display or control module. The infotainment functions and the display may then stop working.
Possible causes
- The software download was not fully completed
- The software in the control module and the display/control module are not compatible
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop download the latest software to the infotainment control module and check that the download completes
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the codes after the software download and check that the code is not stored again
- 4Switch the ignition on for a while after the repair and check that the code is not stored again
- 5If the fault remains after the software download: have a workshop check that the infotainment control module and the display have compatible software
Symptoms you may notice3
- Infotainment functions do not work
- The display does not light up
- On S80 (07-), V70 (08-) and XC70 (08-) built before late August 2008: the audio unit, the audio unit display or the radio does not work
