IEM-B200764 - Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor Temperature Sensor. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal plausibility failure

Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The IEM compares the signals from its three temperature sensors with how the electric rear axle has been used. If the readings do not match that use, the code is set. The cooling system, or software in the IEM or the engine control module, may be behind it. Electric propulsion is then not possible.
Possible causes
- Air or a leak in the cooling system, or a low coolant level
- Damaged cable or connection to the coolant pump
- Damaged coolant pump
- Software fault in the electric rear axle drive control module (IEM)
- Software fault in the engine control module (ECM)
- Internal fault in the voltage converter (ISC)
What you can do
- 1Check the coolant level and look for leaks or air in the cooling system
- 2Have a workshop check the cable and connection to the coolant pump and the pump itself. Download new software if needed. High voltage systems may only be handled by qualified personnel
- 3Have a workshop read out the fault codes in the engine control module and in the electric rear axle drive control module
- 4After the repair, check that the code is not stored again and that the drive modes work as normal
Symptoms you may notice4
- Text window and warning symbol with a text message
- Drive mode PURE disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode AWD disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode HYBRID: the combustion engine is active all the time or too often
What the fault can affect2
- Electric propulsion is not possible
- Brake energy regeneration from the electric rear axle is not possible
