What does this fault code mean?
The electric rear axle drive control module (IEM) monitors the high voltage system. The code indicates that the voltage in the high voltage system is below what the control module expects. Electric propulsion is then not possible.
Possible causes
- The high voltage battery is discharged
- Loose contacts, contact resistance or oxidation where the high voltage battery meets the voltage converter (ISC)
- The high voltage cable has a short to ground or a break
- Damaged wiring between the high voltage battery and the ISC, or between the battery and the electric compressor control module (ACCM)
- Internal fault in the electric compressor control module (ACCM)
- Internal fault in the voltage converter (ISC) or in the high voltage battery
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check the voltage of the high voltage battery and its connections to the voltage converter (ISC). High voltage systems may only be handled by qualified personnel
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the high voltage system voltage in live data and see whether it is lower than expected in gear P or N
- 3Do not carry out any work or measurements on the high voltage system yourself
- 4After the repair, check that the code is not stored again and that electric propulsion works

- Text window and warning symbol with a text message
- Drive mode PURE disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode AWD disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode HYBRID: the combustion engine runs all the time or too often
What the fault can affect2
- Electric propulsion is not possible
- Brake energy regeneration from the electric rear axle is not possible
