Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named incorrect frequency, it applies to the current supplied to the electric rear axle (ERAD) compared with the measured voltage. The control module (IEM) sets the code when the current does not match the voltage. The rear axle performs less well and charging of the high voltage battery is reduced.
Possible causes
- Loose contacts, contact resistance or oxidation at the connections between the ERAD and the voltage converter (ISC)
- High voltage cable short-circuited to ground
- Open circuit in the high voltage cable
- Damaged wiring between the ERAD and the ISC
- Internal fault in the electric rear axle (ERAD)
- Internal fault in the voltage converter (ISC)
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check the connections and wiring between the electric rear axle and the voltage converter (ISC). High voltage systems may only be handled by qualified personnel
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: look at the current and voltage to the electric rear axle in live data while the car is driven in gear D or R
- 3Do not work on the high voltage cabling yourself
- 4After the repair, check that the code is not stored again while driving
Symptoms you may notice4
- Text window and warning symbol with a text message
- Drive mode PURE disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode AWD disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode HYBRID: the combustion engine runs all the time or too often
What the fault can affect2
- Reduced performance of the electric rear axle
- Charging of the high voltage battery is reduced
