Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named component fault, it applies when the temperature sensors inside the electric rear axle drive control module (IEM) indicate a temperature that is too low. The causes are a too-low reading of the module's own temperature, or an internal fault in the voltage converter (ISC). Electric propulsion is then not possible.
Possible causes
- The module's own internal temperature reads too low
- Internal fault in the voltage converter (ISC)
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool: read the temperature values of the IEM in live data and see whether any of them is low compared with the others
- 2Have a workshop check the electric rear axle drive control module and the voltage converter (ISC). High voltage systems may only be handled by qualified personnel
- 3Do not carry out any work on the control module yourself
- 4After the repair, read out the fault codes and check that the code is not stored again
Symptoms you may notice4
- Text window and warning symbol with a text message
- Drive mode PURE disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode AWD disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode HYBRID: the combustion engine runs all the time or too often
What the fault can affect2
- Electric propulsion is not possible
- Brake energy regeneration from the electric rear axle is not possible
