Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The electric rear axle drive control module (IEM) has an internal memory that stores the vehicle configuration and calibration data. The code is set when an internal memory fault has occurred, and The causes are damaged or incorrect internal memory, a software fault in the IEM, or an internal fault in the voltage converter (ISC). Electric propulsion is then not possible.
Possible causes
- Damaged or incorrect internal memory
- Software fault in the electric rear axle drive control module (IEM)
- Internal fault in the voltage converter (ISC)
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop download the correct software to the IEM and check that the vehicle configuration is right. High voltage systems may only be handled by qualified personnel
- 2Have a workshop check the voltage converter (ISC) if the fault remains
- 3Do not carry out any work inside the control module yourself
- 4After the repair, read out the fault codes after switching the ignition on and check that the code is not stored again
Symptoms you may notice4
- Text window and warning symbol with a text message
- Drive mode PURE disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode AWD disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode HYBRID: the combustion engine runs all the time or too often
What the fault can affect2
- Electric propulsion is not possible
- Brake energy regeneration from the electric rear axle is not possible
