Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The signal from the angle sensor in the electric rear axle (ERAD) is incorrect. The electric rear axle drive control module (IEM) sets the code while driving in gear D or R. The fault may lie in the wiring between the ERAD and the voltage converter (ISC), in the sensor, or in the ISC. Electric propulsion is then not possible.
Possible causes
- Loose contacts, contact resistance or oxidation at the connections between the ERAD and the voltage converter (ISC)
- Open circuit in the signal cable
- Signal cable short-circuited to supply voltage
- Damaged wiring between the ERAD and the ISC
- Internal fault in the electric rear axle (ERAD)
- Internal fault in the voltage converter (ISC)
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check the connections between the electric rear axle and the voltage converter (ISC). High voltage systems may only be handled by qualified personnel
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: note whether the rotor sensor value disappears or stays constant while driving in gear D or R
- 3Do not work on the wiring to the electric rear axle yourself
- 4After the repair, read out the fault codes and check that the code is not stored again
Symptoms you may notice4
- Warning window with a warning symbol and text message
- Drive mode PURE disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode AWD disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode HYBRID: the combustion engine runs all the time or too often
What the fault can affect2
- Electric propulsion is not possible
- Brake energy regeneration from the electric rear axle is not possible
