Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named programming fault, it concerns the calibration or parameter memory in the electric rear axle drive control module (IEM), which lacks a valid calibration file. The fault is set with the ignition on and may be caused by an invalid or incompatible software component. The causes are that the memory is incorrect, incompatible or not programmed, or that the internal memory is damaged. Electric propulsion is then not possible.
Possible causes
- The calibration or parameter memory is incorrect, incompatible or not programmed
- Damaged or incorrect internal memory
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop program the electric rear axle drive control module with the latest software and check that it passes. High voltage systems may only be handled by qualified personnel
- 2Have a workshop calibrate the control module if programming alone is not enough
- 3Do not carry out any work on the control module yourself
- 4After the repair, read out the fault codes with the ignition on and check that the code is not set again
Symptoms you may notice4
- Text window and warning symbol with a text message
- Drive mode PURE disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode AWD disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode HYBRID: the combustion engine runs all the time or too often
What the fault can affect2
- Electric propulsion is not possible
- Brake energy regeneration from the electric rear axle is not possible
