Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named module supply voltage out of range, it applies when one or more of the control module's internal supply voltages are faulty. The fault is set with the ignition on once the test has started. The causes are a short, break or damage in the supply voltage wiring, a break in the supply from the system relay, or an internal fault in the voltage converter (ISC). Electric propulsion is then not possible.
Possible causes
- Supply voltage wiring is short-circuited to ground or supply voltage
- Open circuit in the supply voltage wiring
- Open circuit in the supply from the system relay
- Damaged supply voltage wiring
- Internal fault in the voltage converter (ISC)
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check the supply voltage wiring and the supply from the system relay. High voltage systems may only be handled by qualified personnel
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fault code with the ignition on and see whether it is still there
- 3Do not carry out any work on the control module yourself
- 4After the repair, check that the code is not stored again
Symptoms you may notice4
- Text window and warning symbol with a text message
- Drive mode PURE disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode AWD disengages automatically or is unavailable
- Drive mode HYBRID: the combustion engine runs all the time or too often
What the fault can affect2
- Electric propulsion is not possible
- Brake energy regeneration from the electric rear axle is not possible
