What does this fault code mean?
The high voltage generator control module (IGM) supervises the voltage and current feed to the integrated starter generator ISG. The code concerns an open circuit in the high voltage system at the connection to the electric machine. The fault is only checked once the test has started at ignition on.
Possible causes
- The high voltage cable harness is not plugged into the ISC, or is poorly connected
- Loose connections, contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals between the starter generator ISG and the voltage conversion unit ISC
- Open circuit on the high voltage cable
- A short circuit from the high voltage cable to ground
- The wiring between ISG and ISC is damaged
- Internal fault inside the ISC voltage converter
What you can do
- 1Read out, clear the code, start the car and see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check that the high voltage cable harness is fully connected to the voltage conversion unit ISC, and check the cables between the ISG and the ISC
- 3The high voltage system may only be handled by a workshop; do not work on the wiring or connections yourself
Symptoms you may notice5
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
- Warning about power supply problems from the alternator and charge regulator
- Charging of the high voltage battery while driving is absent, reduced or not working correctly
- High voltage battery is discharged or charges poorly
- HYBRID drive mode: the combustion engine is active all the time or too often
What the fault can affect1
- The high voltage battery cannot be charged by the combustion engine
