What does this fault code mean?
The high-voltage generator module (IGM) in the plug-in hybrid monitors its own internal components. It has detected that one or more of them is not working, in this case the temperature sensor for the insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) in the power stage.
Possible causes
- A fault inside the voltage conversion unit (ISC)
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off, wait a moment and start the car again to see whether the fault remains
- 2Check that the auxiliary battery is charged and in good condition
- 3Charge the high-voltage battery with the charging cable if it may be flat, and see whether the fault clears
- 4Never work on the high-voltage system yourself; it must only be handled by qualified personnel
- 5If the fault remains, the high-voltage generator module needs checking and most likely replacing by a workshop
Symptoms you may notice4
- Warning symbol and message in the display
- The high-voltage battery does not charge or charges poorly
- The SAVE and AWD drive modes switch off automatically or are not available
- The combustion engine runs more often than normal
What the fault can affect1
- The high-voltage battery cannot be charged by the combustion engine
