What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance camera control module (PAC) sends its picture to the infotainment head unit (IHU) over a composite video signal. The code is stored when the head unit receives no video signal from the camera. The fault is only tested during the quick test for checking the video signal.
Possible causes
- Incorrect synchronisation signal between the composite video input and the control module
- Loose connection where the composite video cable connects to the control module
- Damaged cable between the control module and the composite video input
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Activate the CAM control on the centre console and check whether the camera icon appears in the reversing view on the front display
- 3Check that the connectors on the video cable are firmly seated and free from oxidation, both at the camera and at the head unit
- 4Check that the video cable shielding has no chafing or damage
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the quick test for the video signal and see whether the fault returns
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop trace the camera and wiring further
Symptoms you may notice3
