What does this fault code mean?
On cars for the Japanese market, the head unit (IHU) monitors the VICS antenna's signal. The code is stored when the signal shows an incorrect state and the voltage on the signal wire is too low.
Possible causes
- The VICS antenna is damaged
- The cable running to the VICS antenna is damaged
- The signal wire is short-circuited to ground
- An open circuit
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3Check that the cable between the head unit and the VICS antenna has no chafing, damage or loose connectors
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the VICS antenna has no open circuit and no short-circuit to ground
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the VICS antenna
