What does this fault code mean?
The head unit (IHU) receives information on a regular basis from the central electronic module (CEM) over CAN. The code is stored when communication with the CEM is lost, and the check runs with the ignition in position II.
Possible causes
- A fault in the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and check whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3Check that the connectors in the CAN network are firmly seated and free from oxidation
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fault codes in all control modules and see whether more than one reports communication faults
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop trace the central electronic module (CEM) and the CAN wires. The CEM should only be replaced if the trace shows it has an internal fault
