What does this fault code mean?
This code concerns the theft protection in the infotainment system, Infotainment Theft Protection (ITP). The central electronic module (CEM) stores the serial numbers of the infotainment system's control modules and compares them at start-up. The code is stored when the head unit's serial number is not on the list, which blocks the head unit and its functions stop working.
Possible causes
- A replacement head unit has a serial number that is not on the list of approved units in the central electronic module (CEM)
- A head unit was swapped without new software being downloaded to it afterwards
- The software download to the infotainment head unit has failed or was not completed
What you can do
- 1Has the car recently had a new infotainment unit or a new head unit fitted? Tell the workshop
- 2Have a workshop check that the correct software is loaded in the head unit and that the unit's serial number is registered in the central electronic module (CEM)
- 3The owner cannot fix this alone, so have a workshop carry out the check and any software download
