What does this fault code mean?
Communication between the infotainment head unit (IHU) and the keyless vehicle module (KVM) runs over CAN. The code is stored when that communication stops, which means the locking functions do not work.
Possible causes
- A break in the communication line
- A short-circuit to ground in the communication line
- A short-circuit to supply voltage in the communication line
- Contact resistance, oxidation or breaks in the connections
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and check whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3Check that the connectors in the connections are firmly seated and free from oxidation
- 4Test locking and unlocking with the key and see whether the central locking responds
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop trace the communication line and the keyless vehicle module (KVM) further
Symptoms you may notice1
- Locking, unlocking and the central locking do not work
