Applies to the following models:

What does this fault code mean?
The infotainment head unit (IHU) compares its configuration ID with the one the central electronic module (CEM) sends out on the CAN network. The code is stored when they do not match, which can be caused by a used unit being fitted to the car without the software being loaded.
Possible causes
- An incorrect configuration ID, for example because the unit is not intended for this specific car, such as a used unit with different software or hardware
- A break in the CAN wires between the head unit and the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1If a used unit has been fitted to the car, tell the workshop, as it may need to be reloaded with the correct software
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3Have a workshop reload the software in the control module with the latest version
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop trace the CAN wires between the head unit and the central electronic module (CEM)
Symptoms you may notice1
- The audio unit does not fully work
What the fault can affect2
- The control module shuts itself off from the CAN network ("bus-off")
- The control module still responds to diagnostic commands while the code is set
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
