What does this fault code mean?
The keyless vehicle module (KVM) checks communication with the remote keyless entry receiver used for the key fob and the keyless functions. The code is stored when that communication is faulty or the receiver does not respond at all. The remote control then stops working, and the fault may lie in the wiring to the receiver or in the receiver itself.
Possible causes
- Faulty communication with remote keyless entry (RKE) receiver
- No response from the remote keyless entry (RKE) receiver
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and test the car with the remote control
- 2With the ignition on, check that the signal wire to the receiver has no open circuit or short to supply voltage or ground, and repair that wire if it is damaged
- 3Make sure the connectors at the receiver are secure and free from moisture and corrosion
- 4Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment confirm the fault and replace the receiver, as it is probably faulty when no other fault is found
Symptoms you may notice1
- The car cannot be operated with the remote control
