What does this fault code mean?
The keyless vehicle module (KVM) checks communication with the remote keyless entry receiver used for the remote control and the keyless functions. The code is stored when the module registers that the signal is incorrect during key activity. The remote control is affected, and the cause may be a damaged wiring run or a failed receiver.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage
- Signal wire shorted to ground
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and test the remote control
- 2Check the power and ground wiring to the receiver and look for open circuits and shorts to supply voltage or ground in the wiring to the CEM
- 3Make sure the connectors are secure and free from corrosion
- 4Switch the ignition on and test again. If the signal wire is open or shorted, repair that wire
- 5Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check and replace the module if no other fault is found
Symptoms you may notice1
