What does this fault code mean?
The KVM (keyless vehicle module) monitors the antennas fitted to the car. The code is stored when one of the inner antennas gives too strong a signal. The keyless function then stops working completely or only partly, and the fault may be in the wiring to the antenna or in the antenna itself.
Possible causes
- A wire to the inner antennas has contact with supply voltage
- One of the antennas is faulty
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and test the keyless functions
- 2With the ignition on, check that the wiring to the inner antennas is not damaged, chafed or pinched, and that the connectors are secure
- 3Disconnect the battery negative lead before measuring, then use a multimeter to check that the wire to each antenna is not in contact with supply voltage
- 4Move the connectors and the wiring harness and see whether the fault follows the movement
- 5Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the antennas and the KVM; if no other fault is found, the module is probably at fault and must be replaced
Symptoms you may notice1
- Keyless functions do not work at all or work poorly
