What does this fault code mean?
The KVM (keyless vehicle module) monitors the antennas once the car reaches a certain speed. The code is stored when no signal arrives from any of the inner antennas. The keyless functions then stop working completely or only partly.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire of the inner antenna circuit
- One of the inner antennas is not connected
- None of the inner antennas is connected
- One of the antennas is faulty
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and check whether it returns
- 2Disconnect the battery negative lead, then check that every inner antenna is connected and that the connectors are firmly seated
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wire to each inner antenna is continuous all the way from the antenna to the KVM
- 4With the car stationary, move the connectors and the wiring harness and see whether the fault follows the movement
- 5Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the KVM and the antennas, and replace the faulty antenna if the wiring is sound
Symptoms you may notice1
- Keyless functions do not work at all or work poorly
