What does this fault code mean?
The keyless vehicle module (KVM) monitors the connection to the outer antennas on the left side of the car when the car reaches a certain speed. The code is stored when the signal from any of them is too high. The keyless functions then work poorly or not at all, and the fault lies in the wiring or the circuit to the antennas.
Possible causes
- The driver circuit feeding the outer left-hand antennas has contact with supply voltage
- The wire to the outer left-hand antenna has contact with supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car
- 2Disconnect the battery negative lead and inspect the wiring to the antennas in the left door handle for damage and for chafing against the body or sharp edges
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the antenna is not in contact with the car's supply voltage
- 4Make sure the connections to the antennas and to the KVM are secure and clean
- 5Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the circuit and the KVM; replace the module if no other fault is found
Symptoms you may notice1
- Keyless functions do not work at all or work poorly
