What does this fault code mean?
The keyless vehicle module (KVM) registers the outer lock button on the right rear door and starts a timer when the button is pressed. The timer stops and resets when the button is released. If the button has been held down for a long time, the code is stored, and the car cannot be locked with the outer lock button.
Possible causes
- The outer lock button on the right rear is faulty
- The button has been held pressed for a long time
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and press the right rear button to see whether locking works
- 2Check that the button returns fully when released and that it does not stick or appear damaged
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the wire between the KVM and the button has no open circuit and no connection to ground (the body)
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: press the button and check that its value in live data shows activated when pressed
- 5Have a workshop replace the door handle if no other fault is found
