What does this fault code mean?
The code is stored when a diagnostic tool reads the part and serial numbers of the remote receiver and the reply is missing or wrong. It is probably a knock-on effect of other faults. The receiver usually works as normal, because only the reading of the numbers is affected.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the remote keyless entry (RKE) receiver
What you can do
- 1Check that the remote control works: lock and unlock the car with one of the remote keys and confirm that the car locks and unlocks
- 2If KVM-0001, KVM-0004 or KVM-0005 are stored, deal with those first, as this code is probably a knock-on fault
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: check that both the part number and the serial number are shown when you read them
- 4If none of those codes are present, no action is needed, as the code has no noticeable symptoms for the driver
- 5If the numbers still cannot be read, have a workshop check the receiver
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
