What does this fault code mean?
The pull switch for unlocking in the outer door handle on the right rear signals to the keyless vehicle module (KVM) that the handle has been pulled, and KVM then begins looking for a valid key. The code is stored when the lock cylinder switch closes before the pull switch has closed. The fault can delay unlocking, though the code does not say what type of fault it is.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the wire
- Damaged switch
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 3Pull the outer right rear handle and see whether the door unlocks straight away, and also test with the remote key
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the switch value in live data while you pull the handle out and release it
- 5With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check the wire between the KVM and the pull switch for an open circuit
- 6Have a workshop replace the switch if the wire is sound and the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- The door unlocks with a delay
