VOLVO
KVM-B137023 - Door Handle Ground Supply. General Signal Failures. Signal stuck high
System
Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–)
What does this fault code mean?
The keyless vehicle module (KVM) monitors the shared ground wire used by the lock and unlock sensors in the outer door handles. The code is stored when that wire reads constantly high, meaning it has contact with supply voltage. Locking, unlocking and central locking then fail, and the fault appears while the engine runs and the car is moving fast enough.
Possible causes
- The ground wire is shorted to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and run the engine to see whether it returns
- 2Check the fuse for the circuit
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the shared ground wire for the handle sensors has no contact with supply voltage. If it is faulty, check that wire first
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: check the shared ground wire status in live data while you lock and unlock with the remote key
- 5Have a workshop check the wire and replace the KVM if the fault remains once the wire is sound
Symptoms you may notice1
- Locking, unlocking and central locking do not work
