KVM-U201B54 - Control Module Calibration Data #2. System Programming Failures. Missing calibration
System
Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–)
What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns calibration data no. 2 in the keyless vehicle module (KVM). The module checks that a local configuration file is present, and the code is set when that file is missing or incorrect. Standard values are then used instead of the car's own settings.
Possible causes
- The configuration file in the keyless module (KVM) is faulty
- Local configuration file missing from the keyless vehicle module (KVM)
What you can do
- 1Read the codes, clear them and road test the car to see whether the code comes back
- 2Check that the battery is in good condition and that its terminals are tight
- 3Check that the connectors on the keyless vehicle module (KVM) are fully engaged and free from oxidation
- 4Have a workshop load fresh software into the keyless vehicle module (KVM); the code concerns the local configuration file itself
- 5If new software does not help, the keyless vehicle module (KVM) needs replacing, which is a workshop job
Symptoms you may notice2
- Locking, unlocking and central locking do not work
- The car will not start, the engine does not start or does not turn over; the problems may show at all times or only now and then
What the fault can affect1
- Standard values are used instead of the car's own settings
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
