What does this fault code mean?
The keyless vehicle module (KVM) checks its own configuration against the vehicle configuration that the central electronic module (CEM) holds. The code is set when the configuration sent from the CEM is wrong, so troubleshooting should be directed at the CEM.
Possible causes
- Incorrect vehicle configuration in the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Make sure the fuses feeding the keyless system have not blown
- 2Make sure the battery is in good condition and its terminals are secure
- 3Road test the car and try the functions the keyless system controls, such as locking with the remote, to see what still works
- 4With diagnostic equipment, read the codes in the central electronic module (CEM), since troubleshooting is directed there
- 5Have a workshop trace the fault in the central electronic module (CEM) and check that it holds the right vehicle configuration
- 6Erase the code and drive the car to see whether it returns
Symptoms you may notice1
