What does this fault code mean?
The keyless vehicle module (KVM) has to be programmed with codes for the remote keys and for the immobilizer before the keyless system will work in the car. The code is set when the module has not been programmed, and it only clears once correct data has been received.
Possible causes
- The control module has not been programmed
What you can do
- 1Confirm that the fuses for the keyless system have not blown
- 2If the module has been replaced recently, it may not have been programmed yet; a workshop needs to do that
- 3Have a workshop program the module with the codes for the remote keys and the immobilizer; this is a programming job
- 4Once the module has been programmed, test the keyless functions and check that the code no longer appears
Symptoms you may notice1
- No, or reduced, keyless function
