KVM-U300362 - Battery Voltage. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal compare failure
System
Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The keyless vehicle module (KVM) continuously checks its own supply voltage and compares it with the supply voltage of the central electronic module (CEM), which the CEM transmits on the CAN network. The code is set when the difference becomes too large. It only needs action if it has been active for a longer time in the same driving cycle and you notice malfunctions that can be linked to it; otherwise it is enough to erase it.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance, oxidation or loose connections
- Wrong configuration ID, which happens when a module is meant for another car, for example a used one with different software or hardware
What you can do
- 1Look at the KVM fuse in the fuse box; a partly burned fuse can cause disturbances
- 2Check the connections on the keyless vehicle module (KVM) for loose, oxidised or damaged contacts
- 3Check the supply wire running from the rear relay and fuse centre to the module for poor contact, oxidation and breaks
- 4Check the earth wire and its earth point for breaks, oxidation and loose contacts
- 5Erase the code and road test the car; if you notice no functional problems, the code can be ignored and simply erased
Symptoms you may notice2
- No, or reduced, keyless function
- The remote control cannot be used
