LPG-0108
VOLVO
LPG-0108 - Manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor. Signal too high
System
Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsS40 (1996–2004), V40 (1996–2004)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The LPG control module monitors the signal from the pressure sensor in the intake manifold and sets the code when that signal is too high while the engine is running.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connector on the LPG control module
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connector on the pressure sensor
- Open circuit or short circuit to supply voltage in the ground wire
- Short circuit to supply voltage in the signal wire
- Defective manifold pressure sensor in the intake manifold
What you can do
- 1Start the engine and read the intake manifold pressure with diagnostic equipment; if the pressure looks normal, the fault has probably been present but is not active at the moment
- 2Check the connectors on the LPG control module and the pressure sensor for poor contact and oxidation
- 3Check the signal wire for chafing and damage, and use a multimeter to confirm it has no contact with supply voltage
- 4Check the ground wire to the pressure sensor for breaks, and use a multimeter to confirm it has no contact with supply voltage
- 5Have a workshop try replacing the pressure sensor in the intake manifold if no fault is found
Symptoms you may notice1
- Poor performance
