System
Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG)

Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The throttle position sensor measures how far the throttle plate is opened. Both the LPG control module and the ECM use this signal, so codes in the ECM should be read first. The LPG control module sets the code when the signal is too low while the engine runs.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connector on the throttle position sensor
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connector on the LPG control module
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connector on the engine control module (ECM)
- Open circuit or short circuit to ground in the supply to the throttle position sensor
- Open circuit or short circuit to ground in the throttle position sensor signal wire
- Defective throttle position sensor
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the engine control module (ECM) first, since the signal is shared with it
- 2With diagnostic equipment, check the throttle opening rises and falls with the pedal; a normal reading suggests the fault is not active now
- 3Check the connectors on the throttle position sensor, the LPG control module and the ECM for poor contact and oxidation
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the throttle position sensor have no contact with ground
- 5Have a workshop replace the throttle position sensor if no fault is found
Symptoms you may notice1
- Poor performance
