What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named FM/PWM, the fault concerns the vehicle speed signal on the MOST network. Speed information comes from the brake control module (BCM) over CAN to the infotainment control module (ICM), and then on to the multimedia module (MMM) over MOST. The code is set when the signal is missing while the car is being driven.
Possible causes
- Problems with the MOST network
- Communication with the brake control module (BCM) is disturbed or missing
What you can do
- 1Check the fuses for the infotainment system and make sure none has blown
- 2Road test the car and check that the position on the map follows the car's movement
- 3Have a workshop check the communication between the brake control module (BCM), the infotainment control module (ICM) and the multimedia module (MMM) on the MOST and CAN networks
- 4Erase the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
